What this part does on the machine

The turbocharger raises intake air pressure and with it engine power. It runs at thousands of revolutions and at temperatures nothing else on the machine sees, so it is sensitive to oil quality and to oil carryover in the intake.

It is identified by the number on the turbo itself, not by the machine: the same engine shipped in several versions differing in wheel size and geometry. Photograph the turbo data plate, it is on the compressor housing.
