A Manitou number and what you can replace it with

Manitou only repackages some of its parts. Pairs of numbers that lead to the same part, cases where the successor number leads somewhere else, and near numbers we checked that do not fit.

A number from the Manitou catalogue is often just the packaging. Underneath sits a part from a maker who supplies everyone else as well, and the same piece is sold under several other numbers. Below are the pairs we have from our own catalogue and from service work, not from guesswork.

Filters: the Manitou number and what replaces it

  • Air filter, primary 563416 = HIFI SA 17234 = MANN C16324 (MCH-11104)
  • Air filter, safety 563415 = HIFI SA 17235 = MANN CF980/2 (MCH-11113)
  • Cabin filter, inner 52543388 = HIFI SC 40128 (MCH-15115)
  • Cabin filter, outer 958671 = HIFI SC 40142 = MANN CU22031 (MCH-15089)
  • Fuel filter, main 799967 = HIFI SN 70392 = MANN WDK962/20 (MCH-12122)
  • Fuel pre-filter with separator 799968 = HIFI SN 70391 = MANN PL250 (MCH-12132)
  • Engine oil filter 943326 = HIFI SO 434 = Deutz 1183358 = MANN W712/4 (MCH-13051)
  • Transmission oil filter 561749 = HIFI SH 70014 = MANN WD724/5 (MCH-13060)
  • AdBlue filter 941976 = HIFI SD 70380 (MCH-17059)
  • Return line hydraulic filter element 236094 = HIFI SH 75221 SP

Oil filter 943326 is a good example. The MLT 737 runs a Deutz TCD 3.6 L4 engine and Deutz lists the filter for it as 1183358.

Two Manitou numbers for one part

  • 236094 and 52736241 both lead to HIFI SH 75221 SP, the old and the new number of the same filter
  • 958155 and 52706341 both lead to HIFI SN 70366
  • 561749 and 189195 are the same transmission oil filter
  • We list AdBlue filter SD 70380 under Manitou number 941976, while the 2AA371 catalogue gives 942244 for the same item on the MLT 737

The successor number need not lead to the same part

For 236095 from the MT 733 range, Manitou gives 52736242 as the successor. HIFI, though, takes 236095 to SH 75222 SP and 52736242 to SH 75396. SH 75222 SP lists the MT 733, MT 933 and MT 1033 EASY 75D ST5 S1 in its HIFI application list, while SH 75396 has no Manitou application at all.

With 236094 from the MLT 737 it is the other way round: the old and the new number lead to the same filter. A successor number on its own therefore guarantees nothing. The application list decides, not the fact that one number replaced another.

Not only filters

Common rail injector 52673918 (MCH-35044) is a repackaged Bosch 0445110463. The Bosch number comes from the supplier who had the part in hand. According to public catalogues Yanmar lists it as 129A00-53100 and John Deere as MIU802771, the engine being a Yanmar 4TNV88C. That is why nobody outside knows the number 52673918: the trail runs Manitou, Yanmar, Bosch.

Where there is no replacement

Neither HIFI nor SF lists O-rings 748115 and 942602 or the alternator belt 942574 on the MLT 737. HIFI does not list belt 944377 on the MT 733. That leaves the Manitou original.

Near numbers we checked that do not fit

A mix-up does not show at a glance, so to be specific:

  • SF HY 90349 is SH 75222 SP, 175 mm tall, not SH 75221 SP, which is 243 mm
  • ARGO HYTOS S0.0638-03 is SH 77987, not SH 77922
  • SF SBL 88070 is SAO 6181, not FS 452
  • ARGO HYTOS L 1.0406-03 is FS 450, not FS 452. We checked all 46 suffixes in that series and none of them leads to FS 452

What we need from you

The number you have in hand, plus the type and serial number of the machine. Try the number in the parts catalogue first, we list reference numbers against it. If it is not there, write to us.
